How Do I Clear My
North Carolina DWI?

The quick answer is to call me - I'll review your case and explain everything for you.

 (Rob Martin 1-252-883-9644)

Everyone convicted of DWI in North Carolina (NC) is required to obtain a substance

abuse assessment and complete the DWI program recommended by that assessment.

If you have a NC DWI but live in another state, you are allowed to complete this requirement in your home state under two conditions:

1) The DWI program you complete in your home state must meet the minimum requirements of NC guidelines that govern DWI programs.

2) You must hire a NC-licensed DWI agency from NC to case manage your home

state DWI program. This involves making sure it meets NC requirements, collection

of required documents, and handling the clearance process with the NC Division of

Motor Vehicles by submitting a 508-R Form on your behalf. Only a NC-licensed DWI agency may submit the 508-R Form. The 508-R Form proves to the NC DMV your completion of a DWI program that meets NC standards.

Martin DWI Services is licensed by the State of North Carolina to provide

Out Of State DWI Program Case Management services.

How Do I Get Started?

The first thing to do is give me a call. We'll go over your case, determine what

needs to be done, and make a plan. I'll collect information I need to obtain a copy

of your NC driving record and to fill out the 508-R Form that will clear your NC DWI.

(If you've ever received a ticket or DWI in NC you have a NC driving record, even

if you never had a NC driver license). If needed, I'll locate a DWI/DUI program agency

in your area for you to attend. Once I've obtained your NC driving record I will check

to see if you owe any fines or fees to the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles

(NC DMV) or to the NC county in which you were arrested and/or convicted of DWI.

By the end of our first call you will know exactly what needs to be done and how to do it.

What Are The Costs?

The fees charged by NC DWI agencies differ across the state and can  run as high as $350. Our agency charges $175.00 for a single DWI charge (and $100 for each additional DWI for multiple offenders). It is possible to have multiple NC DWIs with one or more already cleared and one or more still requiring clearance with a 508-R Form. You pay only for those still requiring a 508-R Form proving DWI program completion. The NC DMV requires one 508-R Form for each uncleared DWI.

The costs depend on your situation and where you are in the process of clearing your NC DWI, which is why it is important you call me so we can review your case.

Here's a list of costs beyond those you paid in court at time of conviction. You may have already paid one or more of these:

-Martin DWI Services Out Of State DWI Case Management Fee  $175

-NC DMV DWI License Fee  $100.00
(charged for every NC DWI conviction)

-NC DMV Service Fee  $50.00
(charged for some convictions, depending on case)

You may have fees remaining with the Court in the NC County in which you were arrested and convicted. A common fee left unpaid is the Civil Revocation Fee, typically $50-$100 depending on the NC County involved.

I will determine if you owe any fees to the NC DMV or the County in which you were convicted and will provide the info needed to pay those fees.

To repeat, Martin DWI Services charges $175.00 (+$100 for each additional DWI) to provide Out Of State DWI Case Reviews. You are not obligated to pay us until it is time to submit the 508-R Form. All consultation calls are free. You cannot incur any charges without knowing and approving of them in advance.
